Short Term Goals
- Develop an official checklist that tenants can use to report violations of the city housing code before moving in.
- Establish an evaluation survey to educate future tenants of previous housing conditions.
- Distribute Rental Unit Violation Forms to the Civic Center, Fire Station, and Library in Independence, Oregon.
- Develop and implement a community education program to inform landlords and tenants of their rights and responsibilities.
- Require deadbolt locks on all outside entrances.
- Establish municipal account for the holding of all rental security deposits.

- Issuing a e-mail list-serve to notify the Monmouth and Independence community of MITU action.
- Dispersing the Rental Unit Evaluation Survey to renters in Independence and Monmouth, Oregon.
